PROJECT OVERVIEW
First steps into mobile UX
I designed Flixfix, a mobile app concept that celebrates classic and vintage films. This was my first introduction to UI/UX design and mobile app creation. For this school project, we were given the freedom to design any type of film-related app. I chose to focus on old cinema, which naturally shaped the visual direction into something nostalgic, warm, and characterful. The project helped me explore app structure, user flow, and visual storytelling in a playful yet thoughtful way.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Where classic cinema falls short online
Many film apps today focus on promoting the newest releases, leaving classic films buried or overlooked. For younger users or curious cinephiles, this makes discovering and appreciating older films harder than it should be. The challenge was to design an experience that feels fresh and inviting while celebrating the charm and value of vintage cinema.
design opportunity
Reimagining film discovery through design
There is an opportunity to make classic films more exciting and accessible for a new generation of viewers. Instead of relying on typical movie apps that spotlight only the latest blockbusters, I set out to design a film app that curates older titles with care and creativity. The goal was to create a visually rich and engaging mobile experience that introduces users to the charm of vintage cinema through thoughtful UI design and nostalgic storytelling.
